Seven hundred years ago, overdevelopment by the world government caused an energy crisis and a tide of pollution that wreaked unprecedented destruction on civilization. This catastrophe not only set back human technology to Middle Age levels, it also changed the face of the planet in horrific ways - suffocating, black miasma covered the atmosphere, and the sunlight was no longer easily visible.

In their war to claim rare, sunlit lands, the Empire and Skydow forces have been battling for decades. All minerals mined underground and the few crops harvested on the surface were being used for war efforts.

Born into this era of thieves, lies, and murder, those caught in the middle of the war had no choice but to fight and make themselves stronger. They knew that the weak and compassionate were Death's most easy prey.

Without the Empire's blessing or the protection of Skydow, you become a Third Force Mercenary to find your life's path on the battlefield. No faith, no reliance, no retreat.

Defeating all enemies is the only way to survive on this world. Walking alone on this path, you hope that for that one day where the twilight will disperse and sunlight covers the land.
