Seven hundred years ago, overdevelopment by the world government caused an energy crisis and a tide of pollution that wreaked unprecedented destruction on civilization. This catastrophe not only set back human technology to Middle Age levels, it also changed the face of the planet in horrific ways - suffocating, black miasma covered the atmosphere, and the sunlight was no longer easily visible.

More than four hundred years later, the creation of the Haska Empire reestablished humankind as the dominant species. The Empire is committed to finding rare regions of sunlight throughout the world and to share this precious resource with all species. Passed down each generation, the mission of the Empire is to restore the past beauty of the world.

To undertake this noble duty, you, as a Royal Knight, must use force to prevent those few who would take these sunlight areas for their own selfish purposes.

Sunlight is an asset that belongs to the entire world. No matter the price or sacrifice, this suffering world must be closely protected until the day it is restored.
